The Junior Suites we have are, I believe, the nicest rooms in Montgomery and the most reasonably priced. I apologize for the fridge. We probably didn't set the temp low enough to be effective. It's something we should be checking daily and I'll advise our inspectress to do that. Thank you Doubletree for hiring such a good person well done! I want Greg to know he made me feel better when I was in an embarrassing situation. I was in town for my 20 year reunion, and I know small things you do affect people and sometimes you never know it. That tells me that Greg Jackson actually does care about people. Waiters work for tips, and my toast and sprite tip did not pay his gas to get to work, but he was still just as caring and courteous as someone expecting to get $100 tip. But when you are away from home and not feeling well it makes all the difference in the world. I know that for most people the restaurant is a secondary concern, and for most hotel chains as well. I dined the next morning with him and he was just as over the top and helpful. He was still asking if there was anything else he could do. He came back with a small box for the toast asking if I wanted jam or butter. He showed me over to the breakfast bar so I could pick out my own bread for the toast. He told me how much it would be and I paid him. He was very concerned if he could do anything for me.

I went to the restaurant and asked if I could have toast and a sprite because I was feeling ill. My first morning after I drove in 8.5 hours I did no feel well. Mainly I was impressed with the restaurant. Room was beautiful and very well maintained. You could easily spend an afternoon exploring this large park.I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It extends out over the river with great view. While you are there, make sure to visit the overlook. The walking paths provide a nice view of the river down below. There are several grills and picnic tables as well as walking paths along the upper area. At the end of the upper area there is a large fenced in dog park where your pups can roam free and off leash. There is a see it, pick it, eat it nut tree grove also. The upper area has pavilions available for rent or if they are not rented anyone can use them.

Once you move to the upper portion of the park, there is a massive green space that is great for playing frisbee, flying kites and many other games. There is also a large basketball court and a pine tree grove that is excellent for a game of hide and seek. There are several picnic tables, grills and walking trails. It is huge! Along the bottom portion of the park there is a public boat ramp providing access to The Alabama River.
